World Bank project to empower farmers in over 3 states across Nigeria

The World Bank assisted Agro-Processing Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Support in Kogi state ( Kogi APPEALS) is set to equip 10,000 farmers in 6 participating states with $200 million grant.

The Kogi state project coordinator, Dr Abdullahi Ozamata disclosed this at a press conference in Lokoja. Alongside Kogi, other states chosen by the World Bank were Kano, Lagos, Cross River, Enugu and Kaduna.

The state coordinator said this project is to enhance the productivity of farmers to ensure that the farmers move from being subsistence farmers to commercial farmers. The implementation of APPEALS would last for a period of 7 years.
