Nigeria: Dan Drizzy shares Robo Love single

The song, released on DD Music, arrives as his third release of 2022, following ‘International’ and ‘Tele Mi’.

‘Robo Love’ discusses the mental state of a man smitten with a woman, which causes him to lose control of himself and behave like a robot. The singer also revealed that ‘Robo Love’ was inspired by his own personal experiences.

Behind 2021’s Business EP, which guests Ghanaian rappers Medikal and Ponobiom, Dan Drizzy’s music is influenced by his deep ties to Nigerian highlife and South African sounds. He describes his style as West African contemporary pop because it’s “urban, real, and oozes a catchy African touch.”

Speaking to Music In Africa earlier this year, Dan Drizzy spoke of his desire to connect the world to unique African sounds. On his challenge as an independent artist, the singer lamented a  lack of resources and genuine support.

“Nobody wants to build a house but they want to enjoy the finished house,” he said. “I understand that’s how life works and I’m ready to face it head-on.”

He is due to release another single in September with Zambian artist Mr Faga before the arrival of a new collection by the end of the year.
