KICC Emerges as Best Business Events Venue in Africa

Nairobi’s Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) has emerged as the top choice for business events in Africa, clinching the prestigious World Travel Awards (WTA) five years in a row.

KICC has triumphed over formidable foes from Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Egypt, and South Africa to claim the title. At the awards event, WTA founder Graham Cooke applauded all victors for taking the travel industry to greater heights with their exceptional input. KICC’s distinguishing remodelling stressed their commitment to improving East Africa’s and the world’s standards to woo more corporate travellers.

Acting CEO Patricia Ondeng reveals that the revamping was also geared towards bringing the centre up to date and elevating its aesthetic value to enthral conference planners and delegates globally. KICC played host to the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) 2023, drawing many Heads of State and international VIPs. As outlined on its official website, the Kenyatta International Convention Centre is a significant landmark in Kenya and it prides itself on being the supreme venue for congregations in East Africa.

Owned by the government, KICC was established in 1973 and recently underwent its first renovation in over fifty years. In addition to hosting conferences, KICC is also a suitable venue for music concerts, exhibitions, festivals, and cultural shows, all of which contribute to the country’s economy. The building offers various spaces for these events, including Tsavo, the amphitheatre, Aberdare and Lenana halls, Shimba Hills, the VIP lounge, the courtyard, and the lawn. Situated in the heart of Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD), the KICC provides convenient access to hotels and other essential amenities for business tourists and other visitors.
