Global boost for AI ethics code with 15 new companies

The AI Ethics Code, developed by the AI Alliance, represents a vast community of AI experts comprising nearly 200 organizations. The recent addition of companies from Nigeria, Zambia, Cyprus, Senegal, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Israel, Mozambique, Mali, Kenya, and South Africa further reinforces the commitment to responsible AI development.

Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia, expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of Code participants, both within Russia and globally. He highlighted the importance of organizations addressing AI ethics and responsible technology development to drive progress on a global scale.

While the identities of the new companies were not disclosed, Vedyakhin emphasized the significance of diverse organizations paying attention to AI ethics for the advancement of innovative technologies.

The AI Ethics Code was created by the AI Alliance in collaboration with the academic community, with support from the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Analytical Center of the Government of the Russian Federation. It garnered early support from prominent Russian companies and institutions like Sberbank, Yandex, MTS, VK, Gazprom Neft, and the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
