In a press release by Avanti Communications, the leading provider of high throughput satellite capacity across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), inaugurates its new flagship office in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria. The office is set in the Heritage Place 14-storey office, Nigeria’s first environmentally certified commercial building, situated in a world-class development in Ikoyi, the commercial district and home to global tech companies, including Oracle and Google.
As a hub for employees across the continent, the opening of Avanti’s new office will cement the company’s commitment to Africa and its ambitions to accelerate growth across the region through local partnerships and the rollout of connectivity solutions.
According to Avanti’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Libby Barr, “This is a big moment for us at Avanti and something we have been looking forward to for some time. Africa is a major focus for us, and this new office will help us continue to develop existing relationships and connect even more communities. In addition, we currently have 20 employees in Nigeria and foresee that number multiplying as we continue to roll out connectivity at pace in the region. We are delighted to be neighbours with some of Nigeria’s finest businesses. Furthermore, we see this new office as a huge opportunity to realise the full potential of all Nigeria has to offer.” He stated.
Furthermore, Avanti Communications company has invested over $800 million in Africa with the aim to make the region its major revenue source within the next two to three years, as evident in the company’s growing footprint across the continent.
With a fifth of the company’s employees based in offices in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa, Avanti Communications has connected more than 1,000 villages and schools across Africa, providing services in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Senegal, Ghana, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon and South Sudan.
