African Entrepreneurs Can Apply For SESA 2022 (EUR 70K)

Local Entrepreneurs in Ghana, Morocco, South Africa and Malawi are Invited to Apply for the SESA Expressions of Interest .

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises from Ghana, Morocco, South Africa, and Malawi with a commitment to sustainable energy solutions are invited to apply for the first SESA Call for Entrepreneurs, which is being organized by Siemens Stiftung on behalf of the consortium for smart energy solutions for africa (SESA).

Businesses with significant, scalable, and innovative company ideas are encouraged to apply for the SESA Incubator Program, which offers grants of up to 70,000 euros. Applications from women-owned businesses are especially encouraged.

With the help of sound business plans and collaborations between African and European stakeholders, SESA seeks to test, validate, and then duplicate scalable energy solutions in a number of areas. SESA plans innovation in the following areas:

The adoption of new technologies and business models necessitates strong collaboration between creative business owners, regional businesses, industry, local government agencies, and university and research organizations.

Small and medium-sized businesses can contribute significantly to this process by offering their cutting-edge goods and services and by having a beneficial social and environmental influence on their local communities.

This inaugural SESA Call for Entrepreneurs largely focuses on Productive Use of Energy (PUE) solutions in Ghana, Malawi, Morocco, and South Africa due to the consensus that energy availability and productive use are significantly connected with economic development.

Over the course of 18 months, each chosen company will get cash ranging from 50,000 to 70,000 euros. Additionally, they will join the SESA Incubator Program, which is managed by the project partner Smart Innovation Norway.

Partners in the SESA consortium will assess the unique requirements of your company and create a tailored plan to assist you in one of our key areas of focus, including business development, organizational development, marketing, sales, financial transparency, and fundraising.

Every sponsored company will have a deeply committed mentor (local or foreign, depending on the necessity), who will offer ongoing assistance in the aforementioned areas.

Eligibility Your business must be legally established and conducting business in Ghana, Malawi, Morocco, or South Africa;Your business must have been officially established for at least two years;Your business must have made money and produced financial accounts for the previous two years (please provide income statements for 2019 and 2020 if 2021 is not yet available);At least two of the SESA KPIs must be contributed to by your company (please refer to the application form for more information);There are no ongoing legal disputes involving your company or the people on its management team;The difficulty facing your nation should be addressed in your application’s thematic theme.The tasks listed in this expression of interest are expected to start in January 2023 and end in August 2024.How to apply
