5 African Payroll Startups Trying To Make Employee Payments Better

Most companies in Ghana and Africa most of the time rely on rudimentary means of keeping track and paying their employees. Sometimes its Excel spreadsheets or other means which can sometimes prove inefficient especially when companies grow and add more staff.

Keeping track of benefits and even offering early payday to staff can be a hassle for some companies. Fortunately, there are startups that are aiming to fix this problem by providing modern-day solutions for Human Resource departments in Africa to better track employees, have a better salary disbursement experience, and even facilitate early paydays for their staff.

Here are five African HR/Salary startups that are trying to stand out to help companies become more modern when it comes to human resources:

Zuberi is an on-demand employee benefits startup that allows workers to access their salary anytime, anywhere. The startup started in 2020 and has so far raised $120,000 in seed funding from Goodsoil VC.

Bento Africa

Bento Africa is a business solutions platform that uses cloud-based technology to power salaries, benefits, and HR.

The company has a presence in Ghana, Kenya, and Rwanda. The company was founded in Nigeria in 2019 and plans to expand to Egypt, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Angola, and Senegal by the end of 2022.

Cadana

Cadana, a Ghanaian salary on-demand startup that provides a modern payroll platform that allows employees to access their earned salary on-demand, anytime, anywhere.

EarniPay

Earnipay, a financial technology solution that provides flexible and on-demand salary access to income-earners.

The startup closed a seed round of $ 4 million and having been in development and beta testing since September 2021.

SeamlessHR

SeamlessHR, is leading human resources (HR) and payroll technology company. The company was founded in 2018 and recently announced that it raised $10 million in Series A funding.
