Why These Xenophobic Activities Against Nigerians?

Nigeria, Africa’s most populated, economically viable and regional superpower that has been playing cardinal roles within the Sub-region in all aspects of stabilities has become the center of envy on the African continent, especially with her Citizenry been hated and discriminated against!

These groups of people located in the Western part of Africa with a mindset of leadership, entrepreneurship, grabbing every available opportunity in turning them into a worthy venture since they got to understand what the Holy scripture indicates that their destinies lies within their hands! As such, Nigerians has taken siege of this divine interpretation and acting swiftly in every capacity of their daily lives in making sure they achieve everything humanly possible in their earthly sojourn!

A case in point is the xenophobic acts melted, against them (Nigerians) in South Africa when some citizens of that Country against all odds choose to brutalize them and destroying their businesses and homes for what they described as all Nigerians are drugs pusher and living on their properties intended for their people with the drugs killing South African citizenry precisely the youth!

This attitude today, has left the two Nations with scares on their consciences thus up to present rift amongst the citizens of these two countries continues to be given birth to as the day unfold!

To my amazement, Ghanaians marketer’s in the Kumasi and Accra metropolis are in the face of the constituted authority placing pile locks on the doors of businesses own and operated by foreigners mainly from China and Nigeria!

What are more frustrating, the placement of notices from the relevant arms of the Ghanaian government is been placed on the doors of foreign businesses by Ghanaian marketers without police accompanying them thus provoking their foreign partners doing business in Ghana!

Accordingly, I heard and read from many Ghanaian medias outlets that retailing of goods are restricted to Ghanaian along as such foreign businesses should only deal in wholesale or for better words into the manufacturing sectors! Again, what comes to mind are those protocols that ought to be working amongst citizens of the thirteen Countries making up the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) which includes free movement of goods and services, visa free movement, doing trades in a free environment?

These acts been exhibited, by some African Nations including South Africa and Ghana shows no sign of co-habilitation within the African Continent which give birth to the African Union (AU) that preaches justices and fair treatments of all African citizens etc. are just respected on paper and application are zero!

Nigerians in the West African basin especially has left an impression as scares on the consciences of their fellow Africans precisely Countries like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Mali just to name a few in their leadership roles in bringing peace and tranquilities in their Countries through their military intervention and mediating prowess!

Ghanaians and South Africans must realize that their nationals are all within Nigerian especially their business interests and whatever melted against these Nigerians will have absolute reactions on their citizenry’s no matter the measures of xenophobic actions!

I want to be brutal with the facts, no one or group of people can take away this fighting spirit in Nigerians in making use of every God-given opportunities, coupled with a mindset of leadership, entrepreneurship, grabbing every available opportunity in turning them into a worthy venture since they got to understand what the Holy scripture indicates that their destinies lied within their hands!

These kinds of treatments by these two Countries must stop now, especially when Africans are talking about uniting in all of her activities in making sure that all Africans are accorded the luxuries of living in Africa and not venturing in deadly voyages that are killing them in the thousands daily!

The leaderships of the African Union (AU) and that of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) must act fast now before these xenophobic activities escalate to an uncontrollable level leading the onslaught on each of these citizens in either Country!
