Maya is the 26-year old bringing global tech investors like Y Combinator, 500 Startups, Techstars, angel investors/venture capitalists, and African tech founders together.
She is the founder of Ingressive, “a market entry firm for global businesses and investment groups” that aims to support the next generation of African innovators.
Ingressive hosts events in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda and South Africa.
While studying at Pomona College, Maya was working in emerging market economic research. She then went on to JPMorgan Chase and completed the Cornell Prelaw Program.
Maya later went on to work in private equity research, assisting financial institutions to reach decisions on prospective investment opportunities, before launching a market research firm which blossomed into Ingressive.
Ingressive hosts a yearly High Growth Africa Summit, “a two day conference on how to launch, scale and fund a high growth African business.”
It’s week-long Tour of Tech program allows investors deep-dive into the technology ecosystem in Africa, connect with dozens of founders, visit the tech centers, meet pre-vetted co-investment partners, attend a conference or two, and meet leading executives in banking, telecommunications, and other sectors that will need to be leveraged to support portfolio companies.
Maya also founded Ingressive Capital, a $5 Million venture fund focused on early stage African tech.
She told Forbes Ingressive Capital “is committed to backing Africa’s top tech-enabled founders, helping them build high growth businesses on the continent, and democratizing access to technology through our investments.”
Ingressive also hosts technology programs in major universities across Nigeria.
