With the success of our previous article on the top 10 most powerful passports in the world we couldn’t help but wonder what are the top 10 least powerful passports.
Its something I am sure everyone questions from time to time after all over 150k people shared our previous article which is just crazy!
They are ranked based on the least travel freedom that each passport holder enjoys. We are not saying they are necessarily bad passports to have but you do have a lot of travel restrictions with them.
On a side note this time we only included 10 in our top 10, technically there was 28 in our last top 10 and thanks to our top commentator David McCormick for pointing that out
10th Least powerful passport in the world:

9th Least powerful passport in the world:
- Sri Lanka
Passport holders can travel to 38 countries without a visa
8th Least powerful passport in the world:
- Sudan
Passport holders can travel to 37 countries without a visa
7th Least powerful passport in the world:
- Nepal
Passport holders can travel to 37 countries without a visa
6th Least powerful passport in the world:
- Eritrea
Passport holders can travel to 36 countries without a visa
5th Least powerful passport in the world:
- Palestine
Passport holders can travel to 36 countries without a visa
4th Least powerful passport in the world:
- Pakistan Passport holders can travel to 32 countries without a visa
3rd Least powerful passport in the world:
- Somalia
Passport holders can travel to 32 countries without a visa
2nd Least powerful passport in the world:
- Iraq
Passport holders can travel to 31 countries without a visa
Number 1 Least powerful passport in the world:
- Afghanistan Passport holders can travel to only 28 countries without a visa.
The least powerful passport in the world is held by Afghani people that can travel in just 28 countries without any particular visa requirement. Afghanistan is followed by Iraq with 31 countries and Somalia and Pakistan with 32.
