Some Ghanaian traders at Tiptoe lane, Circle, Accra in Ghana have threatened to attack Nigerian shop owners after they found out 30 f their own shops have been destroyed.

According to Myjoyonline, it was reported that their shops were demolished on Tuesday, August 14.

A trader said the demolition of his shop was at 5am and before he got there, his laptops and phones were already destroyed in the exercise.

Another shop owner who operates a mobile-money business said he lost all his money in the demolition exercise.

Many of the affected shop owners have accused a Nigerian business owner of being behind the demolition of the shops to make way for his offices.

It was reported that “a residential property surrounded by local shops has been leased to two Nigerians – Uche and Emeka who have had it converted into offices and shops. “

A shop owner said: “They want to evict us and allow Nigerians to take over our land. This is unlawful.”

Some Nigerian shop owners had to lock their shop for fear of being attacked

One of them said his shop was attacked and his attendant injured.

He said: “We asked them what is the problem?…they did not say anything.”

Meanwhile, troubled by frequent killings of Nigerians, the Nigerian Union in South Africa called for the arrests and prosecution of killers.

The president of the union, Adetola Olubajo, blamed the incessant killings of Nigerians in South Africa on lack of prosecution of offenders by the authorities, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Olubajo said that the inability of the South African government to bring to book those perpetrating the heinous crimes against Nigerians has given the criminals free hands.
