Ghana rated the 69th best country in the world to live in ▷ Ghana news

An international survey about the people’s perceptions of 80 countries has named Ghana the 69th best country in the world.

The annual rankings is a joint project by digital news service US News & World Report, marketing company Y&R and the Wharton School, a business school at the University of Pennsylvania in the US.

It is a survey that ranks countries based on perceptions on citizenship, cultural influence, entrepreneurship, business climate and quality of life.

Ghana recorded its highest score – 4.2 out of 10 – under the metric, Open for Business, on account of the country’s cheap manufacturing costs and other factors.

Ghana’s lowest score 0.0 was recorded under Entrepreneurship as a result of a perceived difficulty in acquiring capital.

According to a report by Joy News, the Cedi’s decline against the US dollar is due to the sudden demand for dollar by businesses in the country to import goods from abroad.

The Ghana Cedi, which has been trading around ¢4.80 some two weeks ago, has now hit ¢5.01.
