Cameroon recalls West Ham keyman, Alex Song to Nations Cup squad

January 6, 2015

Song was shot out of the club due to acts of indiscipline and negative influence on the Indomitables national

Song was initially ruled out of the Indomitables squad for Equatorial Guinea.

West Ham had their hopes on the Barcelona loanee man staying with the hammers in January when the country’s German coach Volker Finke changed his mind on the player’s exclusion.

Song was shot out of the team following acts of indiscipline and negative influence on the team during and after the World Cup but his impressive performance at Upton Park which sees him making regular start, prompted the change at heart.

Club boss, Sam Allardyce could also lose two other African stars who are also set to join their teams.

Senegal’s Cheikhou Kouyate is leaving for AFCON just as Diafra Sakho may be joining if he recovers quickly from a back problem.

The 2015 African Cup of Nations holds in Equatorial Guinea from January 17 to February 8
