BrighterMonday connects thousands of job seekers to hiring companies

Speaking in Dar es Salaam last week, BrighterMonday’s Sales Manager, Amina Mohamed said at a human resources personnel and business leaders breakfast that the job seekers were from all professions.

BrighterMonday whichi is a subsidiary to ROAM Africa, has a premier online job portal which has been receiving about 200 recruitment adverts from an average of 350 companies which are posted on its website.

“Apart from recruitment processes, the company also works to build skills for professionals, profiling and providing personalized career guidance to match the right candidates with available opportunities,” Mohamed said.

She said their company earns revenue from firms that use their platform and pay monthly fees for each person they hire from BrighterMonday’s platform.

According to her, the company is present in nine African countries, namely; Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mauritius, and South Africa.

ROAM Africa CEO, Clemens Weitz said the global market place for employment has been digitized to an extent that pushes businesses to run online platforms to recruit hence denying publications such opportunities which means wastage of resources in terms of both money and time.

“Internet and the use of data is vital in the best recruitment processes. At this times when employers need no big number of staff, companies are considering the importance of hiring right personnel that can serve to their expectations,” Weitz said adding that in order to get the right candidates, they are forced to consult technology rather than use ordinary hiring models.

The breakfast session was attended by over 50 professionals and business leaders from different disciplines.

In her opening remarks of the discussion, BrighterMonday Tanzania’s outgoing CEO, Mili Rughani counseled human resource professionals to handgrip and mingle their emotions with leadership positions and still remain productive at their respective work places.

Rughani urged them not to ignore key emotional intelligence notions that include gut feelings, mindfulness, embracing feedback, self-appraisal, empathy, among others which if well managed ease leadership pressure.

“Leveraging on technology, BrighterMonday focuses on solutions that allow it to look through machine learning and algorithms to identify the right candidates for the right organization,” she said noting that BrighterMonday’s platform provides all employment solutions to firms and job seekers.
