Nigeria Celebrates New President

May 29, 2015

Buhari, who is also former military ruler, was sworn-in in the capital city of Abuja on May 29, Friday is the first Nigerian to oust a sitting president through the ballot box.
The incumbent Nigeria’s president dressed in traditional Muslim attire, stood on the stage clutching a Koran in his right hand, as he promised to preserve the constitution and laws of our country.

On the streets, sellers were gearing up for Friday’s event, selling watches, badges, hats and green and white polo shirts inscribed with his campaign slogan “Sai Buhari”.

Nigerians feel like he will rule differently, and have a lot of confidence that he’d be able to take on many of the challenges.

Immediately after the ceremony they took to the social media to describe their feelings and happiness.
