May 26, 2015

At least 1 000 UK-based African professionals are gathering in London this week to meet with 25 pan-African employers who are flying in specially to woo them home with great opportunities.

Homecoming Revolution’s Speed Meet Africa is taking place at the Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington on Friday March 20 and Saturday March 21.

Thousands of Africans have returned home over the past 5 years, with an estimated 359 000 South Africans alone returning home during this period in what is being termed a “reverse brain drain”.

“Our message to the skilled diaspora is don’t wait until it gets better come home and make it better. There are very real career opportunities back home and we need people to return with a sense of commitment and passion to build our continent into the success it deserves to be,” said Angel Jones, CEO of Homecoming Revolution.

“Aside from the exciting career opportunities, the event offers fantastic networking opportunities as well as valuable insights into business, property and schools back home.”

Attendees will also be inspired Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, Mmusi Maimane, DA parliamentary leader, Teddy Warria (Africa 2.0), Osato Aghatise (Ttysoon) and hear stories from African homecomers – warts and all.
